John Dillinger
John Dillinger is remembered as one of the most skilled criminal that the United States has ever seen. He was killed just like any other criminal reaches a bad end, but he gained a lot of popularity during his life. He was famous for his bank robberies and he was a great skilled criminal, he killed several cops and he was involved in looting money from many bank branches. He was killed at an age of just thirty one years; he had also robbed a number of police stations. He was doing all those crimes in the period when people were facing among the biggest depression in the history of mankind. The people were very worried due to the bad trade conditions prevailing in the world. But he was not suffering from the problem as he was busy in earning illegal money by robbing the banks and becoming rich with every new crime.
John Dillinger ran away from prison many times and finally once when he ran away from prison he was spotted at a theatre and the authorities rushed to the spot and finally they killed him, making an end to a criminal’s life.
Bad people cannot live a life with respect they have to face a very pathetic end. Crime is not the way to solve the problems, people should never take the law in their own had hands and they must avoid all sorts of illegal acts. John Dillinger is not remembered in a good way and his ending is a moral for everyone.

Son of NYC Mobster Mickey Spillane Falls to Death
The actor son of infamous mobster Mickey Spillane died Saturday after falling from the sixth floor of his Hell’s Kitchen apartment in New York.
Robert “Bobby” Spillane, 45, was discovered by his lawyer brother, Michael, 46, about 8:00am on the sidewalk outside his Eighth Avenue apartment building, police sources and witnesses told the New York Post.
Spillane was leaning against a screen when it gave way and he fell through an open window, his uncle James McManus said.
“Michael was coming from Starbucks this morning and he crossed the street and saw Robert lying there,” witness John, who manages of the nearby Cosmic Diner, said.
“He was the one who called 911, you know? It’s just so sad.”
Spillane is survived by his wife Heather.
“Michael saw him as he was crossing the street, he panicked you know, he was in shock. It’s so sad,” said Judith, 50, a waitress at the diner.
“Rest In Peace Robert,” read a sign that Spillane’s friends posted, along with flowers, on a telephone booth outside the Cosmic Diner.
As police pored over Spillane’s apartment and the street below, “Saturday Night Live” comedian Colin Quinn -- whose production company produced Spillane’s first play, “All Dolled Up” -- was seen talking with detectives before leaving in a police car.
The two are close friends and Spillane had played various roles on the comedian’s self-titled series, “The Colin Quinn Show.”
Spillane starred in award-winning TV series “NYPD Blue,” “Law and Order” and “Rescue Me,” and also had a minor role in 1999’s “Thomas Crown Affair” movie remake starring Pierce Brosnan.
The youngest of three children, he was the son of Mickey Spillane, an Irish-American mobster who ran the rackets for the "Westies" Irish gang for decades before it was taken over by more violent gangsters.
The mobster, who was called the "last of the gentleman gangsters" in contrast to the violent "Westies" who succeeded him, was shot dead in 1977 when Bobby Spillane was just 12 years old.
During an interview with the Post’s Steve Dunleavy, Spillane recalled his father’s murder.
“I was a kid. We were living in Woodside (Queens). Someone buzzed on the door. It was Friday the 13th, 1977,” he said. His father answered the door and was gunned down in a hail of bullets.
Bobby grew up in the family’s huge Hell’s Kitchen apartments and his play “All Dolled Up” -- about the mob using cross-dressing gangsters to muscle in on Greenwich Village gay bars in the 1960s -- opened in 2006 in the neighborhood’s Acorn Theatre.
Bobby -- who is also survived by a sister, Denise -- was most recently being considered for an open freelance seat on the Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) council.
In 2004, Bobby sold comedian Adam Sandler’s production company a screenplay for $200,000.

Report: Heat Offer Mike Miller 5-Year Deal, 'Confident' LeBron Is Coming
The Miami Heat, having just signed both Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, are still considered the favorites by many to win the LeBron James sweepstakes. (Did you hear? It's on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET tonight. Live!)
But FOX Sports' Jeff Goodmon threw a pretty spicy wrinkle into the free agency mix this afternoon, tweeting that the Heat made a five-year, $27-30 million offer to Mike Miller, with "a deadline tonight."
Update: A source with knowledge of the negotiations disputes the report, telling FanHouse an offer has not been made.
The immediate reaction to that is to assume that either the Heat are giving up on landing LeBron or that they're trying to bluff him into taking less money. There's also the possibility that they're setting up Miller to be a backup plan, but offering him the deal before LeBron makes his decision seem like a backwards way of doing that.
Of course, a follow-up tweet by Goodmon throws much of that out the window -- his source claims that Miami told Miller that "the team is 'confident' LeBron is coming."
So, um, what? Yes, great question. First things first, the money. Mike Prada does a great job of breaking it down at SBNation, which, by subtracting the cash from Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers and James Jones' leftover cash, gives the Heat -- based on the new salary cap numbers -- $50,371,371 to play with when it comes to Bosh, Wade, LeBron and Miller.
Estimating the same $5 million for Miller that Prada threw out (which is probably right -- if it's a standard rising deal, $5.2 million is probably the ceiling for what Miller would make in the first year, bringing it to $29 million for the course of the deal), the Heat then have $45,371,371 to work with.
Cut that into thirds and it means that LeBron, Bosh and Wade would all make $15.1 million each, provided they were all willing to split the money down the middle to form a "Super Team." Of course, the willingness to set themselves up for a whole lot of winning and maybe a South Beach party or two would set them each back $1.4 million per season on their "new team" max deals.
Obviously for LeBron -- since Bosh/Wade are already on board -- that means tacking on even more money lost if he leaves Cleveland, which is something a well-connected source told FanHouse seemed unlikely to happen (primarily because of the previously discussed cash that would be left on the table.)
Two more points worth noting: One, that the Heat are still trying to move Beasley, which isn't surprising, but if it happened, it makes things infinitely easier for the Heat to land James. And secondly, in case it wasn't obvious, Miller could make much more money with someone like the Knicks.
But if he took the cash and headed to the Big Apple, he wouldn't be joining the regular season version of the Dream Team. Then again, that's the same decision facing LeBron.

Confirmed: Match.com Acquires Singlesnet
We called it. IAC’s Match.com is acquiring fellow dating site Singlesnet. We originally reported on the deal last week. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Match.com said the acquisition is more of a “value acquisition than a strategic one” and Singlesnet will continue to be run as an independent business. Singlesnet’s traffic, says Match, com, is declining but could present new monetization opportunities for “Match.com’s collective portfolio of domestic online dating brands.”
Adrian Ong, who joined Match.com from Soulmates Technology, will lead Singlesnet. The acquisition isn’t surprising. Match is in the habit of buying up potential competitors. The dating giant scooped up highly-targeted dating site network People Media last year for a whopping $80 million.
Although traffic is declining, Singlesnet’s traffic is fairly significant for a dating site that doesn’t have the resources of IAC-backed Match. According to comScore stats for January, Singlesnet saw 3 million unique visitors worldwide, which was half of Match.com’s 6.1 million unique visitors for the same period.

Doomsday Movie (Unrated Widescreen Edition)
Loud, violent, and proudly derivative, the post-apocalyptic action-thriller Doomsday is the latest from UK cult director Neil Marshall, who impressed horror fans with his previous efforts, Dog Soldiers and The Descent. Both pictures established Marshall as a director with a knack for reinventing well-worn genre pictures, but here, he seems more interested in stitching together favorite scenes and elements from established horror and science-fiction films. Escape from New York is the main source for Doomsday, though there are plenty of nods to The Road Warrior and its multitude of Italian-made carbon copies, as well as the zombie/plague subgenre; the lovely but impassive Rhona Mitra is the Snake Plissken-esque loner sent by police (represented by Bob Hoskins) to infiltrate Scotland, which has descended into anarchy following a viral outbreak. The disease has surfaced in London (now a walled city), and Mitra is dispatched to find a scientist who may possess a cure. Marshall’s vision of Scotland in ruins brings together the punk/modern primitive costume design of George Miller’s Mad Max trilogy with some eclectic homegrown elements (knights on horseback defending a gang leader’s castle), and while these touches are novel, the picture as a whole should ring overly familiar to any viewer who’s spent time in the exploitation trenches during the past 25 years. Younger and less discerning audience members will undoubtedly enjoy the plentiful violence and gore, as well as the unbridled performances of the supporting cast, especially stuntwoman/actress Lee-Ann Liebenberg as the heavily tattooed Viper. –Paul Gaita

The City' sneak peek: Roxy Olin gets tough love from her dad, 'Brothers & Sisters'' Ken Olin
The tension between Whitney Port and Roxy Olin on “The City” has been building for quite a while and last week it hit an all-time high.
After Roxy successfully placed a Whitney Eve jacket on Canadian singer Lights, all seemed to be OK. That was until the performer apparently pulled the jacket off and threw it to the ground just moments after hitting the stage. By the way, according to our readers who attended the performance, Lights kept the jacket on for about half her set! Nevertheless, Whitney blamed Roxy, yet we’re unsure how Roxy could have avoided that. Later at home, the two argued over the incident and Whitney suggested that living and working together was no longer good for their relationship.
In Tuesday’s episode, Roxy takes to the streets for apartments, but realizes the harsh truth about living alone in the city. It’s way too expensive for a current PR Girl who's in-between careers. In our exclusive preview clip above, Roxy appeals to her father, Ken Olin of “Thirtysomething” and “Brothers & Sisters” fame, for help and she doesn't like what he has to say.
Also in the next episode, Olivia Palermo begrudgingly interviews someone wearing Whitney Eve and Erin Kaplan sees another way to oust her nemesis.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the male fan's condition is not known, and that four other fans were injured when the man fell onto them. The game was stopped for 16 minutes.
The Morning News report also said Rangers spokesman John Blake said the fan fell about 30 feet, but was responsive and able to move all extremities.
The fan was attempting to catch a foul ball off the bat of Nelson Cruz in the fifth inning.

Dalai Lama Turns 75
Spiritual leader of Tibet addresses crowd of well-wishers in Dharamshala, his adopted hometown in India, where he has lived in exile since 1959
Tibetans around the world are celebrating the 75th birthday of the Dalai Lama, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet.
The Dalai Lama addressed a crowd of well-wishers in Dharamshala, his adopted hometown in India, where he has lived in exile since 1959. The Buddhist monk said when looking at the pictures and posters depicting his life, he realizes his life has not been wasted.
In neighboring Nepal, exiled Tibetans celebrated the Dalai Lama's birthday in a camp on the outskirts of the capital, Kathmandu.
News reports say police detained for questioning about 20 Tibetans in Nepal. Officials said they would not permit anti-China demonstrations, although birthday celebrations would be allowed.
In Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang refused to comment on the Dalai Lama's birthday celebrations.
Qin told reporters at a regular daily briefing that only two dates in Tibet's history are important: March 28, 1951, when, as he said, "Tibet was Liberated peacefully;" and May 23, 1959, when, in his words, Tibet adopted democratic reform.
The Dalai Lama fled Tibet in 1959 after a failed uprising against Chinese rule. China accuses him of inciting a separatist movement in Tibet. He says he is not seeking independence for Tibet, just greater autonomy.

Frida Kahlo Biography: Medical Mystery, Controversial Death
(CBS) Happy Birthday Frida Kahlo.
One of Mexico's most celebrated painters would be 103 today, were she still alive. Kahlo fans are honoring her life and Google has graced its homepage with a Frida doodle.
On canvas, Kahlo was known for an intense honesty and a gory mixing of fantasy and fact, but her real life was also a sad and painful medical story. And, according to the Smithsonian, she actually considered becoming a doctor rather than a painter.
Kahlo caught polio as a child, but overcame it, eventually learning to dance and play sports.
As a young woman, she was in a terrible trolley accident. Her spinal column was broken, her left leg smashed, and her right foot crushed. An iron handrail pierced her pelvis, perhaps leading to her inability later in life to carry a child.
After the accident, Kahlo was bedridden for months and, according to her website, began to paint the plaster corsets which held her in place. A special easel was created so she could paint lying down, and her mother placed a mirror on the ceiling over her bed.
In 2006, a team of Lithuanian researchers argued that Kahlo also had spina bifida, a birth defect that can cause deformities of the legs and spine and create chronic pain.
The researchers also noted how "many of her best-known works depict her physical suffering: her bleeding, broken and weeping body. Her paintings and drawings are like medical case reports."
In 1953, her leg was amputated, a result of gangrene that the researchers believe she contracted during an unnecessary surgery.
Her end was near.
"They amputated my leg six months ago, they have given me centuries of torture and at moments I almost lost my reason. I keep on waiting to kill myself," she wrote in her diary, according to the researchers.
"I hope the exit is joyful," she wrote in her last entry. "And I hope never to come back."
She didn't.
Kahlo died on July 13, 1954. The official cause of death was pulmonary embolism set on by pneumonia, but some have speculated that she overdosed on pain killers.
Despite her physical ailments, a life of chronic pain, and scores of surgeries to put her back together again, Kahlo's talents as a painter were irrepressible.
It's best summed up by the love of Kahlo's life, Mexican painter Diego Rivera.
"I recommend her to you, not as a husband but as an enthusiastic admirer of her work," he once said to Picasso. "Acid and tender, hard as steel and delicate and fine as a butterfly's wing, lovable as a beautiful smile, and profound and cruel as the bitterness of life."

Gulf disaster demands new set of rules
The millions of gallons of oil spewing into the Gulf of Mexico each day for the past two months is like a serious wound. It’s been so long since the injury occurred, the body has stopped transmitting pain messages to the brain.
For most of the country.
Americans living along the Gulf Coast are hurting now, and will continue to hurt, as both BP and our federal government fumble toward some kind of resolution.
The horrible truth is that it now seems evident BP engineers do not have a workable solution to the problem, and the Obama administration is leaning on a president whose rhetoric and posturing are having no meaningful effect.
The paralysis that has seized the decision-makers needs to be eliminated, and the best way to do that is for someone — anyone, really — to take action.
We make no claim of expertise in these matters, but it seems logical that Congress could start a chain reaction that might spur the docile creatures frozen in the headlights to start doing something.
And since it is apparent BP can’t stop the gusher, and that a good portion of the body of water that supplies a majority of the nation’s seafood is being suffocated by clouds of oil, perhaps the best place to begin the process of fixing what’s broken may be at the offshore rigs themselves.
One possible benefit of the BP disaster — if it’s even possible to call anything associated with the ruination of a national treasure a benefit — is that the labyrinthian ownership network of offshore rigs has been revealed.
For example, the Deepwater Horizon rig that exploded and sank into the gulf two months ago was built in South Korea, operated by a Swiss company under contract to a British oil conglomerate, and the primary responsibility for safety inspections was with the minuscule Republic of the Marshall Islands, a financially challenged nation in the Pacific Ocean, whose officials have never had the capacity to inspect oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, and in fact outsourced many of its oil rig-related chores to private companies.
International law allows offshore oil rigs to be treated like ships, which can be registered in faraway countries, such as the Marshall Islands, or Panama, or Liberia — places where the environmental health of the Gulf of Mexico and the people who live on its shores are of little or no concern.
In other words, rigs like the Deepwater Horizon are veritable time bombs, with many of them under the supervision of tiny nations whose officials could care less about oil spills and ruined lives.
If Americans are so paranoid about acts of terrorism that they’ll willingly submit to virtual strip searches at airports, they should also be willing to entertain the notion that our federal government needs a far bigger role in the inspection of safety operations for offshore rigs.
Some members of Congress are having similar thoughts. A House subcommittee hearing is scheduled Thursday, the subject of which is the maze of ownership in the offshore oil business, and the need for new rules that will ensure tougher safety inspections, and more stringent regulation of an industry that has now demonstrated, beyond any doubt, the ability to wreak havoc on a great number of this nation’s citizens.
The job of any government is to protect those being governed. It is now painfully clear that our government has failed, miserably, with regard to ensuring the safety of offshore oil operations. The Obama administration and Congress need to collaborate — beginning immediately — on correcting that mistake.

Late Tuesday, Apple replaced the iPhone 4's June 24 delivery promise with"ships by July 2." The reduced-priced iPhone 3GS, an 8GB model that sells for $99, retained its June 24 show date, however.
Even earlier in the day, reports surfaced that AT&T had run through its iPhone 4 supply, and was telling customers that further pre-orders would not be received by customers until "June 25 or later."
Late Tuesday, AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel declined to comment on whether AT&T had sold out of what iPhone 4 units it had set aside for June 24 delivery.
Tuesday night, AT&T's Web site returned the message "Pre-orders for iPhone temporarily suspended" when attempts were made to reserve an iPhone 4.
According to a message posted to Radio Shack's official Twitter account, the retailer exhausted its iPhone 4 supply about 90 minutes after it began taking pre-order reservations at some of its stores.
The combination of ordering snafus -- both AT&T and Apple's online ordering processes collapsed at times on Tuesday -- and the run on iPhone 4 supplies left a bad taste in some customers' mouths.
"After literally hours spent trying to order the phone online today, I was never able to reserve one for delivery on June 24. Now at 10 p.m. I finally got through and managed to order one that won't be shipped until July 2," said someone identified as "Woodwyn" on an iPhone support forum thread at 10:22 p.m. PT Tuesday. "This is the most unacceptable experience I have ever had with Apple. I've put in the time and gotten absolutely nothing to show for it. Apple on the other hand has a ton of free press about how popular the iPhone is that all of their stores were swamped and their servers went down!"
The iPhone 4 sell-out came significantly sooner than last year's depletion of iPhone 3GS inventories. In 2009, AT&T didn't empty its pre-order shelves forfive days, while Apple was still taking orders and promising at-launch delivery a week after the company unveiled the 3GS.
With pre-launch supplies spent, U.S. customers who want an iPhone 4 on June 24 will have to visit an Apple, AT&T, Best Buy, Radio Shack or Wal-Mart store.
